Every summer the members of Flotilla 11-1 conduct numerous SAR (Search and Rescue) missions in Alpha East (Nantucket Sound) and Alpha North (Pleasant Bay and North Chatham). These highly trained members of the auxiliary also participate in training exercises with Coast Guard Station Chatham throughout the summer to keep their skills sharp.

The Auxiliarists must also outfit their boats with all the necessary Coast Guard approved equipment needed before they can achieve Operational Facility Status and recieve orders. Only then can they get underway and conduct SAR and Safety Patrols while proudly displaying the decal below.
